Letter of safe conduct for Wakute

Santee Agency June 9, 1879

This is to certify that the bearer, an Indian by the name of Wakuté, is a communicant of the Protestant-Episcopal Church, a man of good report in the Church of Christ, and among his own people, and is worthy of any kindness that may be shown him by white people in the country through which he may travel.
